Social Aspects of the 1920s

The social aspects of the 1920s were a mixture of new permissive events or modernism, which collided with the old Victorian standards, and social mores of the past. In America throughout the 1920s, society's view on African Americans and women changed dramatically. Americans also had new views on crime and prohibition. Also the country benefited from new inventions increasing the quality of life. Unfortunately during this time, intolerance and suspicion was widespread as well.
