The Ku Klux Klan

Picture
The KKK was originally formed after the civil war in order to terrorize blacks to stop them from voting. However in the 1920s the Klan had a different purpose. The Klan viewed themselves as protectors of prohibition, morality, and Americanism. They then targeted African Americans, Jews, Catholics, and immigrants. Many people joined the group because many wanted to rise up against radicalism and others wanted to fight against immigration.
