Women's Fashion in the Victorian Era

Women in the Victorian era were expected to show off the families wealth. The woman would have six wardrobe changes a day and would change into different outfits depending on the occasion. Some of these outfits were dinner dresses, walking dresses, and ball dresses. Also as the years progressed, women outfits would become more lavish and fancy with the new ability to put accessories on the dresses like lance and beads.

Women's Fashion in the 1920s

As the the transportation, architecture, and custom of society changed, so did the fashion of women. Women's dresses became more colorful and elegant, but also lighter and shorter. Outfits were out together more like art by using handbag, jewelry, hats, and stocking to create a harmonic style. New fashions later came out for women who wanted to look elegant, but couldn't afford the price, making fashion cheaper. Styles of clothing also depended on the occupation allowing for a more practical dress. In this this century flappers, trendy women, started wearing short dresses just below the knee, had shorter cut hair, and wore make-up. Many people were afraid of the change and called them terrible and wicked, but the people were actually afraid of change. This allowed a start of fashion magazine coming out and persuading the people to wear the new style.
